The artist's note for this work describes an autonomous practice in being more messy. This unique piece belongs to the ScatterProcess[or] series, which Kelly Milligan terms a continued study into scattering arrangement. The compositions are generated through simulation, a process where simple two dimensional forms are dispersed according to physical rules. Milligan states that these simulative experiments reveal hidden complexity and that breaking a rigid mechanical structure injects meaning into simple forms. The note connects this method of softening an arrangement through disruption to the work of Vera Molnar.
