This unique work is one of five hundred generative pieces from the series Themes and Variations, created by Vera Molnár in collaboration with Martin Grasser. The project is described by the artists as Molnár’s only generative series of its nature and a reflection on her extended engagement with the 'machine imaginaire'. Each composition originates from an algorithm that treats the letters N, F, and T as abstract components. Molnár established a system of rules while also introducing an element of disorder, allowing the program a degree of autonomy. This particular image is the static record of one such generative event.
