This digital painting is the still counterpart to a video work of the same title, `Golden Oriole`, from the `ECHOES OF LIGHT` collection. Sized at 5000 by 8889 pixels, the painting is delivered to primary collectors of the associated video. Its edition of twenty five is therefore directly linked to the acquisition of the other work. The image is a product of goldcat's systematic process, which builds a composition from a grey scale foundation to establish light and contrast before applying colour in careful layers. This method is informed by preliminary research files and life drawing.
