Lunar Lament

A narrative scene of sorrow and solace unfolds in this static image, issued in a small edition of twelve. The artist’s note describes a young woman weeping beneath a full moon, comforted by her cat. This work, from the ‘Gengoya Collabs’ series, presents a collaborator’s detailed illustration applied to the Bwople template, which forms the base for the female figure. Unlike many of Gengoya’s animated pieces, this is a still PNG file from June 2024. It demonstrates how the neutral Bwople character can become a central actor within a specific story, its form adapted to convey emotion.
