Parameciidae Hermetis (Opalus)

This static image is the product of a quasi simulation involving a system of twenty four million particles. According to the artist’s note, the system’s initial state is altered by a sequence of infinitesimal gravitational perturbations. The final composition results from a complex dimensional reduction, projecting the form first from a volume and time state to three dimensions, and then onto a two dimensional plane. The title, translated as 'Hermes paramecium', combines biological and hermetic references. This work, described as the 'Opalescent edition', was created in April 2024 as an edition of forty four.
