A theory of General Instability

The artist’s note for this work pairs the terms 'Particles, forces, horizon' with a personal lexicon of scientific and alchemical symbols. Titled 'A theory of General Instability', the piece is a generative animation from an edition of 160, created on 11 April 2023. It is produced by a software system subjecting millions of particles to instabilities within a digital force field. This process models the forms that arise from minor initial irregularities. Each animation is infinite, its unique behaviour seeded by the transaction hash generated at its creation. The series was presented at an event in New York City in 2023.
