Oryan

This unique digital illustration was created on 30 April 2023. It forms part of a series of nine images made by No One Noise for the musician Moody Moussavi’s album, also titled Oryan. According to the artist, the visual style was informed by the oriental melodies in Moussavi’s music. The album’s lyrics are from the poetry of Baba Taher Oryan, and the illustrations were developed to reflect its atmosphere. The artist states that the central concept is a resistance to fate, which is pictured as an oppressor, and that love appears in the source material as a means of both salvation and misery.
