The Swimmer

This work originates from a clay sculpture that was subsequently three dimensionally scanned to create the final digital object. The process demonstrates the artist’s method of connecting analogue and digital techniques. Titled `The Swimmer`, the piece aligns with goldcat's sustained use of the human figure to articulate what she terms an 'emotional physique'. Her practice, which developed from a background in engineering and illustration, is grounded in drawing from observation. Created in May 2024, the work was produced in an edition of thirty for the series `HERE & NOW: EDITION 6`. The artist is based in Dresden.
