Daily Muse 05

The Gengoya project, established in 2016, is dedicated to explaining elements of Japanese culture through illustration. This work, Daily Muse 05, functions within that framework as a record of artistic process. An annotation by the artist clarifies that it is an initial study, belonging to a set of seven that formed the basis for the Monomuse collection. The use of the tag ‘erokawa’ provides a specific aesthetic lens, a Japanese term for the combination of cute and erotic qualities. The drawing is a product of the artist's consistent, often daily, method of production.
