Marcelo Soria Rodríguez constructs `la caverna #82` from fundamental code, using javascript and a graphics shading language without dependencies. This method gives the artist direct authority over the image, a composition of geometric shapes in three dimensions. The work belongs to a series structured as a triptych which separates a distorted reality from its ideal, undistorted state. In his note, the artist connects this process to Plato’s allegory of the Cave, proposing the work as a reflection on a subjective world where a fabricated reality can become indistinguishable from its source.
