The artist's note for “Couch Culture” specifies that the work is a hand drawn and animated GIF. This manual process is consistent with Gengoya’s non generative approach to digital illustration. The title points towards a scene of domestic life, a theme that allows the artist's recurring Bwople character to serve as a vehicle for simple narratives. As a work from the MONOMUSE series, it demonstrates how this foundational figure can be adapted to represent different activities. Ferdi Trihadi’s background in illustration informs these character studies. The work was created as an edition of thirty in April 2025.
