Rudxane is a visual artist based in Amsterdam. His practice originated in the late 1990s with early experiments in web development using HTML, CSS and Javascript. Initially creating small interactive websites for private enjoyment, he gradually began to use code as a medium for making art. His background in building for the web informs a practice grounded in the direct manipulation of code to produce visual systems.

The artist's method focuses on creating generative programs that explore the relationship between the human hand and the machine. He is particularly interested in introducing characteristics like inconsistency or error into otherwise precise computational processes. In a series such as Tych, for example, the code attempts to replicate the fallibility of a person performing repetitive actions, resulting in instability and misalignment. This collection includes works from BINGO, a series of randomly generated cards in an unknown language, and from Disrupt and Grid Studies. Each work is an output from a specific system built by the artist.

The works carry a sustained concern with the balance between order and disorder, and with the possibility of personality within a generative system. Rudxane regards scribbles and scrawls as a combination of these states, where the apparent chaos of the mark making reveals an underlying complexity. This interest connects his work to a lineage of asemic writing and gestural abstraction, where the act of inscription is prioritised over legible content. The viewer is presented not with a fixed image, but with an instance from a system that interrogates the distinctions between human expression and machine execution.
