Geometric Motion #1

This unique work from 2021 is described by the artist as an exploration of combinations for simple geometric shapes. Drawing inspiration from minimalist graphic design, the piece operates on a generative system coded with the p5.js library. Triangles, squares and circles of varying sizes are placed on a grid of four to seven cells. These forms move freely within the composition, sliding under each other and reappearing to produce a continuously reconfiguring picture. The colour and drawing order of each element are determined by its starting position. The system includes ten possible colours, two of which are rare.
