This unique artwork, existing as a package of software files, was produced through a collaboration between Mark Knol and John Karel. Titled `playing.cccccards #597`, it was created on 10 June 2022 as part of a series for the fxhash platform. The project adapts the generative systems that are a core element of Knol's work to the thematic conventions of playing cards. The piece represents one singular outcome from the artists' shared code. This program is capable of generating numerous distinct variations, resulting in a collection of formally connected but individual compositions.
