Chrysalis #339

Created on 12 January 2023, this work is a unique software system for generating visual compositions. As an iteration from the `Chrysalis` series, its title suggests a state of transformation. Monotau’s notes for the project frame this process within a narrative of ancient alien remains and their constructions as a source of life. The algorithmic programme renders its forms progressively in a web browser, with the image quality improving over time. The artist provides instructions for user interaction, inviting manipulation of the composition through clicking, dragging and zooming. A static version may be saved, but the work is a live computational process.
