SMOLSKULL #750

Created in November 2021, SMOLSKULL #750 belongs to a large series generated by a single program written by the artist. Each work, including this one, is described by Mark Knol as a “Smol pixelart skull face”. While the underlying system remains constant, its execution produces a unique result each time it is run. This particular iteration was created for the fx(hash): Genesis collection. The skull motif itself connects to a long art historical tradition of memento mori, here reinterpreted through the logic of algorithmic repetition and controlled variation within a defined set of rules.
