Bishop

The artist’s note for this work specifies its origin as a hand drawing designed for tattoo art, subsequently animated and over painted digitally. This moving image composition, titled Bishop, demonstrates the artist's process of translating meticulous physical works into digital formats. The subject matter is consistent with the unsettling characters and reimagined archetypes that feature throughout his output. As with much of his work, the piece summons a lineage of symbolist art through its precise and visceral detail. Part of the Murmur collection, this work from July 2022 was produced in an edition of six.
