O B S C V R V M #85

This unique digital object was created by Protocell Labs in 2022 as part of their series O B S C V R V M. The composition is generated by code and arranged in layers, resembling theatre scenography with a frame, a central element, and a background. The central lattice structure is the result of a computational process which iteratively subdivides a Platonic primitive. Protocell Labs, a collective founded in 2021, uses a single light source to articulate the intricate geometry in monochrome. The work belongs to a small subset selected by the artists from the many possibilities their system can produce.
