Distorted Habitat #6

This work is part of the Distorted Habitat series, which constitutes the entirety of the known practice of the artist Ida Belle. The artist’s attached notes describe the series as ‘AI assisted images of bizarre structures’, indicating a process of collaboration between the artist and an artificial intelligence system. The sequential title, Distorted Habitat #6, positions this piece within a systematic exploration of unfamiliar architectural forms. The images in this series propose an alternate vision of the built environment, where the logic of engineering appears suspended and common notions of shelter are transformed into something strange.
