Gedankenflug

Created in January 2024, this work was conceived as a token of appreciation for supporters of an auction of the artist’s self portrait. Ida Belle describes the piece as an artistic expression of the mind’s free movement, a concept indicated by its German title which translates to flight of thought. This theme connects the work to her wider practice of giving form to internal states. The artist used a system named Emergent Properties Open Studio to produce the composition. Released as a PNG image in an edition of ten, the piece functions as both a personal statement and a collective celebration of shared artistic interest.
