DOM2 #2462

This web based animation, DOM2 #2462, is a live audio visual work from 2024. It is a collaboration between the artist Leander Herzog, who programmed the visuals, and musician Milian Mori, who created the generative audio. The work uses the Document Object Model, or DOM, as its primary material, composing an infinite document from basic HTML elements. An underlying programme animates these elements in real time. The visual composition emerges from technical factors such as the dimensions of the browser window. Herzog describes the series as a method for exploring style by shaping random number distributions with curated sets of values.
