Numbered sixty one in the sequence, this work is a further iteration in Ida Belle’s sole known series, Distorted Habitat. The collection is composed of images generated with assistance from artificial intelligence, which the artist describes as depicting bizarre structures. This process results in renderings of architectural forms that appear to disregard the principles of engineering. Each numbered piece contributes to a larger investigation of alternate environments and notions of shelter. The work is presented as a unique edition, consistent with the other digital images that constitute the artist’s complete output to date, which progresses numerically in a focused inquiry.
