Komšije #1

This unique generative work was created by Studio Yorktown in December 2023. It belongs to the series ‘Komšije’, the Serbian word for neighbours. According to the artist, the piece is inspired by the brutalist architecture of New Belgrade and a personal interest in minimalism and modernism. The composition is algorithmically generated using a system that organises architectural elements according to the Golden Ratio. Busia’s notes describe the source buildings as resilient vertical ecosystems containing a multitude of private worlds, an idea this work interprets through its coded structure. The work is a unique edition.
