Wanderer #278

This piece is a unique generative work from the Wanderer series, published on the fx(hash) platform in November 2022. It is realised as a live software application rather than a fixed image. The composition is generated by an algorithm that employs hexagonal Truchet tiles, a method with precedents in the history of combinatorial design. These tiles are arranged to produce a dense field of winding coloured forms. As the artist notes, the user can interact with the work to change its resolution. Allen designated all primary sales from this series to support the Processing Foundation.
