Created in November 2022, this work belongs to David Brice Allen’s Wanderer series. The artist’s accompanying note explains that the piece is the product of an algorithm using hexagonal Truchet tiles to form intricate pathways of colour. The work exists as a generative system, enabling the user to alter the output’s resolution through keyboard commands. By directing all primary revenue from the series to the Processing Foundation, Allen connects his practice to the wider community and educational goals associated with the open source software.
