Created on 17 October 2022, this work is from the series `Mines`. The artist introduces the series with a quotation from J.R.R. Tolkien, framing the works as explorations of imagined mountains seen in dreams. These images are generated using code to represent what drey terms the ancient mechanics that shape such landscapes over geological time. The artist's note suggests a conceptual descent beneath the mountain's surface to understand these formations. `Mines #148` is a single iteration produced by this system, which was built using the p5js library and allows for viewer modification of its background.
