Alpinism #98

This work is a single iteration from drey's `Alpinism` series, created in August 2022. The artist describes the series as a tribute to rugged landscapes, using a generative system to produce unique interpretations. The underlying code draws mountain ranges in one of three distinct styles against a variety of backdrops, which include imagined skies or parchment. According to the artist, this process allows for scenes where a pen drawn ridge line meets a sky of impossible colour. Made with the p5js library, the series stems from the artist's interest in the mythology of mountains and the imaginative lens of memory.
