Studio Yorktown uses code as his primary medium to produce works such as this composition, minted on 25 January 2023. It is one of a series of unique outputs from the `Perpendicular Inhabitation` system, which the artist developed using the p5.js library. The project serves as a homage to 1980s Japan, aiming to evoke a sense of optimism through carefully selected colour palettes and defined compositional rules. The artist, Kwame Bruce Busia, draws on his experience in spatial and graphic design to create these stylised architectural scenes, generated to be suitable for printing at high resolution.
