This work is from Pensado a mano, a series from May 2023 where the collector’s input initiates the generative process. The Spanish title translates as ‘thought by hand’, reflecting how a manually drawn set of shapes becomes the primary parameter for the algorithm. This input combines with other random features to determine the work's final state. The artist describes this system as an “artificially extended process”, one which moves from a gesture made by hand, to an image on screen, and finally to a plottable file intended for paper. This sequence creates a work that exists across different media.
