Acequia #274

Produced in collaboration with illustrator Rick Crane, this piece belongs to the Acequia series from 2022. The project translates the form of historic irrigation canals, or acequias, into geometric compositions. Poole’s generative system constructs each image using rules and cube designs derived from a specific location in Andalusia, Spain. Acequia #274 is one singular output from this process. It arranges these fundamental components within the picture plane, employing a bold colour scheme selected from a range of day and night palettes. The work is characteristic of the artists’ method of blending code with curated design elements.
