Acequia #160

The title of this work refers to traditional irrigation canals, a theme which the artist note confirms for the whole Acequia series. Created in November 2022, the piece is the second collaboration between Rich Poole and Rick Crane. The composition’s geometric forms are governed by an algorithm whose rules are determined by a specific location, a mountain village in Andalusia, Spain. This system combines cube designs with striking day or night colour palettes to generate abstract representations of these essential waterways. The work exists as a unique edition.
