Minted in December 2022, this work is part of the O B S C V R V M series, a title that translates from Latin as darkness. Protocell Labs connects the project to a text by physicist Eugene Wigner regarding the suitability of mathematics for describing physical laws. The series was created with a script that generates spatial compositions on an ambiguous scale, between the cosmic and the subatomic. It forgoes colour to concentrate on structure, which is revealed through a single source of light and the complex shadows it produces. The artists published selected outputs from this generative system on the fx(hash) platform.
