Acequia #282

This work from 2022 is part of the Acequia series, a collaboration between Rich Poole and the illustrator Rick Crane. The title refers to traditional irrigation canals, a concept the artists translate into bold geometric designs. According to the artists, each composition is algorithmically generated based on a specific mountain town in Andalusia, Spain. This location determines the rules for construction and the design of the constituent cubic forms. Acequia #282 is a unique iteration produced by this system, combining these programmed rules with a predetermined day or night colour palette to represent the essence of these waterways.
