Caliban ~ Rust

A collaboration between two artists, this work features a vocal performance by Laurence Fuller with visuals and sound by Von Doyle. The piece is built upon an adapted monologue from Shakespeare’s The Tempest, spoken by the character Caliban. Fuller performs the speech in which Caliban asserts his claim to the island and recounts his initial relationship with Prospero. The artist’s note identifies this 2024 video as part of the Rust series of Shakespearean adaptations, a sub group of works within the broader Elysium Rising collection. It was made available as an edition of 44.
