Umbra #64

This unique edition was created in late 2021 for the collection titled fx(hash): Genesis. The work belongs to the Umbra series, which the artist describes as a generative study of shadows cast by simple geometric shapes. For this series, Rich Poole constructed an algorithm governed by the elementary principles of light and shadow. The resulting composition in Umbra #64 arranges black and grey rectangular forms against a light ground, creating a dynamic spatial relationship. The work's foundation in code and its use of minimal geometric components are characteristic of the artist's method, which connects digital processes to physical phenomena.
