In this edition of one from the Pensado a mano series, the final image depends on an initial act of drawing. Made in May 2023, the work’s system prompts the user to create a specific quantity of shapes. The artist describes this input as the unique seed, crafted by hand, which then generates the composition by affecting other randomised elements. Alejandro frames the project as an enquiry into the relationship between generative art and manual drawing. A background process simultaneously creates a plottable version of the work, suggesting a transition from a digital file to a physical object.
