Universal Rayhatcher #478

This unique work from July 2023 belongs to a project the artist developed to answer a specific question about the nature of generative systems. Pasma’s stated goal was to find the least restrictive set of parameters possible. His response is a framework that can produce a vast range of forms, limited only by the possibilities within a 512 character Javascript formula. The collector provides this formula, a Signed Distance Function, which is then rendered by the artist’s ray hatching algorithm. The resulting artwork is a product of this defined collaboration.
