This work, a PNG image generated by a custom program, comes from a series that confronts the artist’s sense of helplessness regarding environmental issues. In his notes, Michaël Zancan states his desire to fight with what he has got, using his art as a means of address. While expressing little belief in technology as a saviour for humanity, he retains hope in human conscience. This piece is therefore an outcome of a generative process built around a complex personal position, one that uses the logic of code to articulate a deeply human concern.
