Border_Line - The Orange Incident

A direct reference to an airport security checkpoint, the title of this work frames a personal narrative provided by the artist. The note, titled ‘The Orange Incident’, describes an accidental spill of saturated orange ink while passing through customs control. As a component of the Tree_Line series, the piece originates from an algorithm Zancan developed to generate images. The series as a whole considers the tree a model for complex networks, which this work interprets through the lens of a national border crossing. It was issued in an edition of one hundred.
