Off_Line - The Orange Incident

An accompanying artist note, ‘Turns out, the surest way to be off line is to turn on Airplane Mode’, directly informs this work’s title. This thought precedes a longer anecdote about spilling vivid orange ink at an airport, an event the artist calls ‘The Orange Incident’. This composition belongs to the Tree_Line series, a body of work grounded in generative code that uses the tree as a primary motif. Zancan’s practice, which is based in software, here synthesises a reflection on disconnection with a physical event. The image is part of a 2025 edition of one hundred.
