In Between #14

Created in early 2023, this piece is an iteration from the In Between series. The generative system constructs a scene defined by a fence like grid, which the artist describes as an infinite cage dividing the pictorial space. The logic of the code determines the position of stark shadows cast by an external light source. For the rendering of light and dark, Pasma uses several halftoning methods. In certain outputs from the series, this approach has the effect of collapsing perceived depth into what the artist terms an abstract interplay of form.
