Landscape with Carbon Capture #6526

A generative work from late 2022, this piece is part of the artist’s self described critique of his own environmental consciousness. Michaël Zancan uses computer code to produce landscapes that carry a conceptual weight, reflecting what he calls the great hypocrisy of our times. His stated intention is to acknowledge the inherent contradiction of using technology to create art about nature. The resulting image is not a depiction of a specific place but an output from a system designed to confront this difficult position, using the tools available to the artist.
