This is one of 365 works from the EPIHYPERDERPFLARDIOIDS series, produced in late 2022. The work is the result of Piter Pasma’s extensive algorithmic study into a specific family of shapes he named for the project. He generates these symmetrical, loopy forms from a mathematical base of sine waves and rotation. While the artist notes a visual resemblance to outputs from a Spirograph toy, he also states that his generative system is different. Each composition in the series is a distinct, calculated instance from this large body of research into coded mathematical structures.
