Landscape with Carbon Capture #6527

Part of a large generative series from 2022, this work reflects Michaël Zancan’s dual background as a painter and programmer. The artist uses Javascript code to create images that address environmental themes. For the series Landscape with Carbon Capture, he proposes a direct analogy, stating that carbon emissions will “stain my canvas, no matter how green the colours on my palette”. This specific image, a PNG file titled with a unique number, is one outcome of his programmed system. The project confronts a sense of helplessness regarding environmental issues, using the artist's chosen technological tools as a means of critique.
