Michaël Zancan uses the project Landscape with Carbon Capture to examine what he terms “the great hypocrisy of our times”. He acknowledges his position as an artist working with technology on natural themes, seeing a contradiction in the process. A line from his statement, “Carbon emissions are here to stay, they'll stain my canvas,” informs the series concept. This piece, created with Javascript, is therefore one expression of a system designed to represent this inescapable environmental reality.
