In Between #12

This work belongs to the In Between series, which the artist developed from a project for the Genuary 2023 coding event. The composition presents a repeating pattern forming a grid like structure that suggests an infinite space. A strong light source originating from outside the frame casts sharp shadows across a floor plane. Piter Pasma employs variations on halftoning techniques to render the scene’s tonal values. This method can also serve to flatten the pictorial space, creating an abstract composition of interlocking forms. The underlying pattern for the series was itself derived from an earlier work.
