Landscape with Carbon Capture #3664

Unlike a static image, this work exists as a code based file, a direct expression of the program Michaël Zancan wrote for the series. The project, Landscape with Carbon Capture, considers the artist's own environmental consciousness and scepticism toward technological solutions. Zancan, who has a background in both painting and programming, uses Javascript to generate these compositions. This particular piece, being software, directly embodies the methods of the series. It materialises the artist’s statement about pervasive carbon emissions, with the technological medium itself being part of the subject matter under critique.
