The artist states that the series draws upon the methods of impressionist painters, using code to simulate the application of paint in naturalistic colours. Each form in the composition, whether a flower, a tree or a cloud, is built from these programmed brushstrokes. The artist’s note specifies that the plants depicted are suggestive and do not represent any real species. They emerge instead from the logical rules of the javascript system, constructing an apparently spontaneous scene from a precisely defined set of parameters.
