RGB Elementary Cellular Automaton #706

This unique work from the series demonstrates the artist's method of generating complex forms from simple, rule based systems. The image is a visualisation of three separate elementary cellular automata operating concurrently. Each system evolves according to one of 53 pre selected rules chosen by the programme, with its state drawn in either the red, green, or blue colour component. The artist also notes that the cell size can vary, introducing another parameter that affects the scale and texture of the final composition. The work is a direct registration of an autonomous process.
