Moonlit Mountains #31

This piece is a unique instance from the `Moonlit Mountains` series by the artist Neoformix. The work depicts a forested mountain landscape under moonlight, generated entirely with code. Jeff Clark, the artist behind Neoformix, programmed a system using standard javascript where every element is determined by probabilistic outcomes. Visual features such as tree density, fog level, and the phase of the moon are selected from a predefined set of possibilities. Certain characteristics, like a blue moon, are assigned a low probability, making them infrequent. This work from August 2022 is one outcome from that generative system.
